Charles Beck, 60Charles W. Beck, 60, of Zumbrota, died on Wednesday, May 6, 2009, at the Rochester Methodist Hospital in Rochester.
Mass of Christian burial is scheduled for Monday, May 11, 2009, at 11 a.m. at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Zumbrota with Father Tim Dolan officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for Sunday, May 10, 2009, from 1 to 5 p.m. at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Larson Chapel in Zumbrota, and on Monday one hour prior to the mass at the church.
Charles William Beck was born Feb. 4, 1949, in Charles City, Iowa, to Johnnie and Wilma (nee Ebding) Beck. He grew up in Nashua, Iowa, and graduated from Nashua High School in 1967. He attended the Iowa State University and in 1970 started working for Morton Buildings. On July 14, 1973, he married Kathy Ricke in Easton, Minn. From 1973 until 1989 Chuck farmed with his brother, Bob, in rural Nashua. While farming, Chuck continued to work for Morton Buildings and was currently working for Morton's at the time of his death. In 1990 Chuck and Kathy moved to Zumbrota. Chuck enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and family, gardening, golfing and fishing.
Chuck is survived by his wife, Kathy; three sons, Jason Beck of Oronoco, Doug (Megan) Beck of Goodhue and Mike (Rachel) Beck of Zumbrota; six grandchildren, Gabe, Joey, Tyler, Melanie, Nathan and Erin Beck; his mother, Wilma Beck of Nashua; two sisters, Myrna (Don) Greene of Eden Prairie and Jeanne (Gary) Olson of Nashua; and one brother, Bob (Joyce) Beck of Nashua. Chuck was preceded in death by his father, Johnnie.
Casketbearers are Andy Eggerichs, Barry Kruse, Bob Tittrington, Brian Buck, Ken Lother and Merle Johnson. The family suggests memorials to St. Paul's Catholic Church.
