Cecil N. Decker, 76, of Millville, Minn., formerly of Theilman, Minn., died Sunday at his home. Born June 6, 1932, in Elba, Minn., to Nick and Lillian (Clausen) Decker, he attended country schools at Fairwater and Elba and St. Charles High School. On Sept. 3, 1952, he married Christena Goetz in Elba. He worked for U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and Archer Daniels Midland in St. Charles, Minn. He operated the Mobil Station in Kellogg and farmed in rural Theilman, Minn. In 1969 he opened the Old Country Store in Theilman and owned and operated an Independent Security Guard Service until his retirement in 1986. He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, West Albany in rural Millville and the Catholic Aid Association. He was an avid gardener.
Survivors include his wife, Christena of Millville; three daughters, Kaloa (John) Hanson of Rochester, Kansas "Kandy" Olson of Lake City, and Gail Pepe of Lake Worth, Fla.; three sons, John "Jack" (Sherrie) of Plainview, Richard "Dick" (Cindy) of Iowa park, Texas, and Daniel of St. Charles; 16 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with the Revs. Richard Dernek and Father Robert Meyer officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today at the church and one hour prior to the service. A prayer service will be at 8 p.m. on Tuesday at the church. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Schleicher Funeral Homes, Plainview Chapel.
