Carol Ann Pirius, 65, Red Wing, passed away at her home unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 27.

She was born November 19, 1949 in Red Wing, the daughter of Clifford and Margery (Beckler) Pirius. She attended Red Wing Public Schools and graduated from Central High School in 1966. Carol participated in a number of high school activities including being a member of the cheerleading squad during grades 7 through 12. She was the head majorette of the Red Wing High School Band, and she was a member of GAA and of the high school yearbook editorial staff. In 2003 she returned to Red Wing and lovingly cared for her mother until her death in 2009.

Carol was an avid Minnesota Twins and Vikings fan and rarely, if ever, missed a televised game. She enjoyed the company of friends for shuffleboard and dinner gatherings and she did some traveling both in the U. S. and abroad with her brother.

Carol is survived by one brother, James of Alexandria, Va. and several cousins in the Red Wing area.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
