AgStar Fund is offering scholarships to rural students
The AgStar Fund for Rural America, a corporate giving program of AgStar Financial Services, is offering $20,000 in scholarships to students in rural areas. High school seniors who plan to continue their education and pursue careers in agricultural fields are encouraged to apply for one of the 15 $1,000 scholarships. In addition, the fund is awarding five - $1,000 scholarships to high school seniors with an agricultural background and plan to continue their education in any field of study.
Applications are accepted through April 1. Eligible students include those living Goodhue, Wabasha, Pepin and Pierce counties. Application forms online at www.AgStar.com.
Chamber plans Tastebuds & Business event
Red Wing Area Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual Tastebuds & Business from 5 to 7 p.m. March 22 at the St. James Hotel. This is the chamber's major spring networking event and features local restaurants.
To date, 13 restaurants have signed up. Other interested businesses should contact the chamber.
Workshop focuses on food planning for child care providers
A free workshop on food planning for child care providers and parents is set for 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Twin Bluff Middle School. Dawn Danckwart of Providers Choice will present "Changing the Food Landscape."
