Business area notebook: Tale of Two Sisters planning to close
Tale of Two Sisters Tearoom & Gift Shoppe will celebrate its 10th anniversary in September. And probably its last, according to owner Bonnie Tracy.
The tearoom, at 204 W. Seventh St., plans to close at the end of the year unless someone steps in to buy it.
"After 10 years of making memories, it is time for me to retire my apron, teapots and oven mitts, and move on to the next stage of my life," writes owner Bonnie Tracy in Teatimes Tattler, the shop newsletter.
"I will always hold in my heart the lilting laughter, secrets shared over a cuppa, tears of joy and sorrow, and the celebrations of life enjoyed with treasured friends and family within these walls," Tracy added.
The last scheduled tea party at Two Sisters is the Dec. 20 "A Nutcracker Tea," with music by Tachaikovsky and, of course, sugar plums.
Business After Hours
Confluence Marketing will hold Red Wing Area Chamber of Commerce's Business After Hours event from 7 to 9 p.m. tonight in the historic Indigo Building, 325 Main St.
Confluence Marketing recently combined the talents of Integreat and Idea Outpost to form a full-service marketing group. Business After Hours lets Chamber members get together to network, and in this case enjoy the view from the roof of the Indigo Building.
Winery featured on TV
WCCO-TV filmed a segment on southeast Minnesota wineries in July. Among the wineries featured was Falconer Vineyards in Red Wing.
The basis of the story is vacationing close to home due to the fuel crisis, and wineries that make for great short trips. The segment will air on WCCO's 10 p.m. newscast tonight.
