Boys Tennis: Black River Falls takes out Ellsworth

Will Huppert got the lone individual victory for Ellsworth Thursday afternoon as Black River Falls topped the panthers, 6-1, in nonconference action. Huppert won 6-4, 6-0 over Ben Sherman at No. 1 singles.

“All things considered, I think the guys played really well,” said Ellsworth head coach David Boigenzahn. “Considering some players on the team picked up a racquet  for the first time last week, to go down there and play a good team like Black River Falls is really valuable and they got to experience some of the things we need to work on as the season progresses.”

Ellsworth (0-1) will get right back at it at 11 a.m. Saturday with a quadrangular at Baldwin-Woodville. Other teams involved include Amery and Durand.
