It took longer than he had hoped, but Mike Belisle earned his first win as Red Wing's coach. His team beat Chaska 6-3 Tuesday on the road.

"It's nice not to be 0-10," Belisle said in a light-hearted manner. "I'm really happy for the team. That's something tangible that they can hold on to here."

Chaska's Korey Koob opened the scoring but Red Wing followed with three unanswered goals from Jack Strusz (power play), Alex Rezansoff and Michael Friedrich.

Marcus Noesen gave Red Wing a 4-2 lead with a goal in the second period.

"Marcus Noesen, I thought, had a standout game," Belisle said. "He played well in all ends of the rink."

A slap-pass from Noesen set up Ryan Rehder for the final goal of the game, a power-play tally.

"We dominated pretty much a large majority of the game, 5-on-5 and on special teams," Belisle said.

Rezansoff (2 goals), Strusz (1 goal, 1 assist) and Taylor Hanson (2 assists) each had two-point nights for Red Wing.

"The biggest thing was we put the puck in the net and met our goal of (allowing) three goals or less," Belisle said. "That's how we are going to be successful."

Red Wing will host New Prague on Thursday.
