There was not much separating Byron, Lake City and Kasson-Mantorville Friday afternoon at Lake City Golf Club. But “not much” is not the same as “nothing” as the Bears’ 334 held off the Tigers (340) and the KoMets (346) in a Hiawatha Valley League triangular.

Hunter Fjerstad of Byron was the medalist, shooting a 10-over-par 81. Lake City’s scoring included Sam Klipfel (82), Brennan Rothgarn (83), Cory Dick (87), Parker Schurhammer (88) and Alex Meincke (89).

The Tigers will travel to Zumbrota-Mazeppa on Tuesday to take on the Cougars and Triton.
