Thomforde, who had 13 points, also recorded 10 steals for a rare points-steals double-double. Riley Bollum had six thefts as well, giving Goodhue an advantage in the turnover margin, 16-14, just between the two of them. Augustine, meanwhile, led the Wildcats with five rebounds, and tied Tyler Schumacher with a team-high two assists.

Ellis Hirman and Kurt Gadient both scored 10 points for Z-M who struggled at 38 percent shooting for the game. Hirman also grabbed 17 rebounds in the loss.

Goodhue (4-4 overall, 2-4 Blue) heads to the Winona State invitational Friday to face Lewiston-Altura and Hope Lutheran. The Cougars (1-6, 1-6) visit Faribault’s Bethlehem Academy Monday, then head to the Annandale Tournament Friday. Z-M will face the hosts in the first game of the tournament.
