Boys Basketball: Tigers rattle off win over K-W

Paced by a big first half from Brady Kuchinka, Lake City moved over the .500 mark for the first time this season with a 72-50 Hiawatha Valley League victory over Kenyon-Wanamingo Thursday in Kenyon.

Kuchinka scored 17 of his team-high 21 points in the first half. He finished the game 3-for-3 from 3-point range, 4-for-4 from the free-throw line, and had three assists in the victory. Reid Lundell chipped in 18 points and six rebounds, Eli Custer had 11 points and 11 boards, and Jesse Oliver had 11 points and four assists for the Tigers.

Lake City, which has won seven of its last eight games, shot 51 percent (28 of 55) from the field.

The Tigers (9-8, 6-6 HVL) returns home Tuesday to face Goodhue.
