Boys Basketball: Strong second half leads Goodhue to win
Trailing by one at halftime, Goodhue stormed back in the second half against Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton, outscoring the Bulldogs 35-25 after halftime to secure a 60-51 victory Thursday in Goodhue.
The Wildcats had three players finish in double figures, led by Riley Augustine’s 15 points. Augustine also had nine rebounds and five steals in the victory. Riley Bollum (13) and Alex Thomforde (12) also finished in double digits, and Tyler Schumacher added nine points in the victory.
JWP’s 6-foot-5 center Kyle Fisel had a game-high 17 points on 7 of 9 shooting. Jordan Richardson added 10 points in the loss.
Goodhue (3-4) heads south on Highway 58 to resume Hiawatha Valley League play Friday at Zumbrota-Mazeppa.
