Boys Basketball: Peterson's big night leads Bombers to win
Four games into the season, Cannon Falls found its first win, and it came against a conference opponent no less.
Brock Peterson scored 36 points, while Austin Noble and Hunter Johnson filled the other columns in the stat sheet as the Bombers took care of Stewartville, 82-67, Tuesday night.
“It’s Brock’s second 30-plus night of the season,” said Cannon Falls head coach Josh Davisson. “He’s picked up a lot of our scoring, and a lot of it was Hunter finding him, and that’s what Hunter does well. And Noble did a great job of owning the lane and getting his hands on a lot of passes.”
Johnson scored six points, but his impact came with the ball going parallel to the floor. The senior guard dished out 10 assists as well as coming up with three steals. Noble matched his nine points with nine rebounds, adding six steals and four assists.
Alex Bultena was the second-leading scorer for the Bombers with 14, while Zach Stiehl chimed in with eight points and eight rebounds.
The two teams combined for 54 fouls, a total that was not out of line with the kind of game that was played.
“It was just a physical game between the two teams,” Davisson said.
Cannon Falls (1-3 overall, 1-1 HVL) will head to Kasson-Mantorville Friday.
