Boys Basketball: Lundell's career night leads Lake City

Led by a career night by senior Reid Lundell, Lake City got its first win of the young season with a 49-43 victory over Wabasha-Kellogg Saturday in Wabasha.

Lundell scored a career-high 25 points on 6 of 14 shooting with 13 free throws, and nearly had a double-double with nine rebounds. Matt Glasenapp chipped in with seven points, and John Brown had five points and five steals in the Tigers’ victory.

Leading 24-19 at halftime, Lake City struggled at the start of the second half, scoring just two points over the first seven minutes, 26 seconds of the second half. Clinging to a 26-23 lead, Glasenapp broke the slump with a 3-pointer that lifted the Tigers’ offense. The Falcons got no closer than six points for the rest of the game.

W-K got a team-high 21 points from Joe Meyer while Austin Baab had 13 points, including four 3-pointers.

Lake City (1-2) hosts La Crescent on Tuesday.
