Boys Basketball: Lake City snaps Goodhue's win streak
Lake City started off slow against Goodhue, trailing 18-6 five minutes into the game. But the Tigers got their second wind and cruised the rest of the way, knocking off the Wildcats 66-40 in Hiawatha Valley League play Thursday in Goodhue.
Reid Lundell had 14 of his 17 points in the first half, and had four rebounds, three assists and two steals for Lake City. Brady Kuchinka chipped in with 18 points, five boards, three assists and two steals, and Jesse Oliver tallied 11 points in the victory.
Riley Augustine and Austin Buck led Goodhue with nine points apiece. Offense was a burden on Thursday as the Wildcats shot 30 percent from the field (15 of 49) and 16 percent from 3-point range (3 of 18).
On a four-game win streak, the Tigers (6-7, 3-5 HVL) are at home Tuesday against Triton. With their six-game win streak snapped, the Wildcats (7-5, 3-5 HVL) host Southland on Saturday.
