Kruger’s 19 points led all scorers while Pesch’s 11 were one more than the Tigers’ Jesse Oliver, who led Lake City with 10 points. Matt Glasenapp had nine points, all on 3-pointers.

The game was all but over after the first half as the Vikings built a 37-10 lead on six 3-pointers. The Tigers were just 2 of 20 from the field, and did not score their first basket until 10 minutes, 19 seconds remained in the opening half.

Lake City will host Stewartville at 7:15 p.m. Tuesday.

St. Croix Lutheran 71,

Cannon Falls 64

A slim, three-point lead at the half was not enough for the Cannon Falls boys basketball team in a 71-64 loss to St. Croix Lutheran Friday night.

"We didn't play very well offensively in the second half, and they got on a run,” said Cannon Falls head coach Josh Davisson.

The Crusaders used a two-headed attack, featuring Aage Rovney and Ade Lamu. Rovney scored 20 points, 15 of which came on five 3-pointers while Lamu led St. Croix Lutheran with 25.

Brock Peterson had a game-high 38 points, with 15 of his also comeing on five 3-pointers. Alex Bultena scored 13 points and hauled in seven rebounds. Austin Noble had eight boards for the Bombers (0-1).

"I thought we did a nice job without two starters. We just came up a little short," Davisson said, noting Hunter Johnson and Jordan Lundell both missed the game due to injury.

Cannon Falls will host Hayfield at 7:15 p.m. Tuesday.
