Boys Basketball: Bombers win fourth straight

After starting the season 1-5, Cannon Falls has managed to climb out of the basement and back into contention, winning its fourth straight with a 66-36 victory over Triton Friday at home.

Now 5-5 in the year, things are finally shaping up in the Bombers’ favor.

“We’ve gotten a couple good wins over some HVL Blue teams this week,” said Cannon Falls head coach Josh Davisson. “Hopefully, we can have some good team-building at the tournament next week in St. Peter.”

Hunter Johnson had a strong night for the Bombers with 14 points, six rebounds, four steals and three assists. Alex Bultena and Jordan Lundell each finished in double figures with 12 and 10, respectively.

“It was a pretty balanced night for us,” said Davisson, who saw his team jump to a 33-11 halftime lead. “Lots of guys were able to score.”

Zach Otto was the Cobras’ top scorer with 12 points.

Cannon Falls (5-5, 4-2 HVL) takes on Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop in the first round of the St. Peter holiday tournament at 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 27.
