Cannon Falls held off a second-half charge by Pine Island to secure a 61-58 Hiawatha Valley League victory Monday in Cannon Falls.

“We did a nice job defensively, but we were fortunate to hang on,” said Bombers’ head coach Josh Davisson.


Brock Peterson had an 18-point, 3-steal, 3-assist night, and Alex Bultena followed with 17 points. Hunter Johnson finished with nine points and six assists, Austin Noble had eight points and 10 rebounds, and Jordan Lundell tallied eight points in the victory.

The Panthers’ Ben Warneke finished with a game-high 25 points, along with eight rebounds.

Cannon Falls (16-8, 13-3 HVL) wraps up the regular season this week with a home game against Zumbrota-Mazeppa Tuesday, followed by a trip to Kenyon-Wanamingo Friday in the finale.
