CANNON FALLS -- Cannon Falls scored two defensive touchdowns in the first half and rallied from a 28-21 halftime deficit Friday to beat sixth-ranked Kasson-Mantorville 31-28 in Cannon Falls.

There were six lead changes in the game and a field goal by Bombers senior kicker Cam Adel with less than four minutes left in regulation was the difference.

"We went down and our kids just kept battling and battling," Cannon Falls coach Josh Hofstedt said. "It was a back and forth game. We played solid and hung in there, just kept battling and came out on top."

A big reason for the Bombers' (2-1, 1-0 HVL Blue) success against the KoMets was senior Cedric Dicke. He scored two defensive touchdowns, one on a 38-yard interception return and the other on a fumble recovery in the end zone. Dicke also added 18 carries for 85 yards and one reception for 13 yards.

Kasson-Mantorville turned the ball over six times in the game and had its first punt blocked by Bombers senior Tyler Boyle-Hoban.

That led to a 4-yard rushing touchdown for Cannon Falls senior Matt Hernke.

Next up for the Bombers is a trip to La Crescent Friday.
