Bluff Blast set in Memorial Park

The first Bluff Blast encouraged people to get outdoors at Memorial Park. At this year's blast, set for Saturday, people can make walking sticks around the bonfire, take guided hikes of prairies and/or wooded trails, listen to stories about the area's curious history and learn about the bluff's wildlife and geology.

Outdoor enjoyment will be the focus of Bluff Blast 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at Memorial Park. The free event will feature art projects for children, a treasure hunt, guided hikes, mountain biking, disc golf, prize drawings and more.

Along with learning about the park’s history, wildlife and geology, attendees will get a look at new kiosk panels and future construction plans for the summer.

Bluff Blast is accessible by taking East Seventh Street to the Skyline Drive entrance. Walkers also can take the Cow Path from Bluff Street.
