Elliot Cox finished 2-for-4 with a solo home run to right field to lead off the fourth inning, but Rochester Lourdes had more than enough offense to overcome the blast, topping Lake City on Friday night, 11-4.

John Brown ended up 1-for-2 with a double, while Michael Noll went 2-for-2. Alex Scharpen and Reid Lundell each had a hit, with Lundell adding a run batted in.

Brown threw three innings to take the loss, giving up four runs, three earned, on four hits and three walks. Noll finished out the game, giving up seven runs, all earned, on six hits and four walks to go with two strikeouts.

Lourdes’ Zach Hillman was 3-for-3 with a double and two RBI

“We did some good things,” said Lake City head coach Perry Iberg. “Walks were an issue. We gave up too many bases. They had 10 hits, and we had some nice defensive plays. But we struggled to pitch strikes.”

Lake City (5-9) will host Triton for a doubleheader on Monday.
