Baseball: Tigers plate 21 runs in victory over Goodhue
Lake City poured it on against Goodhue Monday with a 21-3 five-inning victory in Goodhue.
The Tigers racked up 15 hits and used five errors by the Wildcats to grab a 21-1 lead in the first four innings.
Logan Thomas went 2-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI and three runs scored to lead Lake City. Thomas also threw three innings for the Tigers, allowing zero runs on one hit and zero walks to go along with five strikeouts. Jake Griebenow finished 2-for-3 with a double, a triple and three runs scored while Dylan Simonic was 2-for-3 with a double and three runs scored.
"We have to tip our hats to Lake City," Goodhue head coach Eric Schofield said. "They were just mashing the ball all over the place."
Tyler Schumacher was 1-for-2 with an RBI, Riley Bollum went 1-for-3 with an RBI and Logan Breuer was 1-for-3 with two runs scored for the Wildcats.
Goodhue hosts Zumbrota-Mazeppa Tuesday and the Tigers travel to face the Cougars Wednesday.
