Baseball: Pine Island routs Goodhue

It didn’t take long for Pine Island to wrest control of the game away from Goodhue in a 17-1 Hiawatha Valley League victory Thursday afternoon.

Riley Bollum gave up 11 runs in the first inning as the Panthers walked four times and pounded out 11 hits. Only seven of those runs were earned, but the damage was done.

Alex Thomforde, Ben Ramboldt and Riley Augustine each had a hit for the Wildcats while Jared Lohmeyer went 4-for-4 with a double and 3 RBI for the Panthers.

Goodhue (0-1 overall, 0-1 HVL) will head to Lake City Tuesday for a doubleheader.
