Baseball: Pepin-Alma takes advantage of Glenwood City's six errors
Pepin-Alma got all the offense it needed Tuesday in a 16-6 six inning victory against Glenwood City during the Division 4 regional playoffs in Alma.
Glenwood City also made six errors in the game, including five in an eight-run second inning for the Eagles.
Justin Pearson threw three innings of relief for Pepin-Alma to get the victory. He allowed two runs on three hits and one walk while striking out two. Cole Carroll started for the Eagles but struggled with the strike zone, walking eight in three innings. He also struck out six.
Carroll led Pepin-Alma offensively, going 2-for-4 with two doubles and an RBI while Aikan Major went 3-for-4 with two RBI. John Nuzum and Zack Vreeland each had three RBI.
Matt Hurtgen was 1-for-4 with a triple and two RBI and Brennan Kessler finished 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI to lead Glenwood City.
The Eagles play Plum City Wednesday in Pepin.
