Tied at 4-4 in the bottom of the seventh inning, a base hit by Noah Schutte brought home teammate Tom Jensen to give Byron a 5-4 walk-off victory over Zumbrota-Mazeppa in Hiawatha Valley League play Friday in Byron.

The Bears came into the final inning down 4-2 before putting up three runs in the final frame. Schutte finished 2-for-4 with a double, while Mitchell Enerson also was 2-for-4 with a double.

For the Cougars, Jacob Ugland went 2-for-3 with an RBI, and Alex Nelson tallied a hit and an RBI. As a team, Z-M collected just five hits.

The Cougars (0-2) head to Mayo Field on Monday to take on Rochester Lourdes.
