Baseball: Durand shuts out Pepin-Alma
Durand held Pepin-Alma to two hits Tuesday in a 4-0 victory in Durand.
"The name of the game was we couldn't get anything to drop," Eagles head coach Eric Bjork said. "We hit the ball right at them."
The Panthers scored single runs in each of the first three innings and finished with six hits for the game. Jacob Biesterveld paced Durand with a 1-for-3, 1 RBI performance and Sam Jasperson also went 1-for-3 with an RBI.
Nathan Simz got the win for the Panthers and threw five innings. Simz struck out three and walked four.
Jacob Lerum started for Pepin-Alma (10-9, 7-6 Dunn-St. Croix) and threw six innings. Lerum allowed three runs on four hits, walked two and struck out four in the regular-season finale.
The Eagles face Glenwood City Friday in Alma to begin Regional playoff play. Pepin-Alma defeated Glenwood City 16-2 last Thursday.
