Baseball: Bombers come back to beat DeLaSalle
Facing DeLaSalle at John Burch Park on Saturday, Cannon Falls was able to manufacture some offense on the way to a 2-1 non-conference win in Cannon Falls.
The Islanders got on the board in the top of the first after a sacrifice fly by Noah Buchl. But it would be the only offense DeLaSalle could put together as they were held to one hit, thanks to the combined efforts of five Bomber pitchers.
In the bottom of the fifth, Cannon Falls finally got on the board thanks to a suicide squeeze bunt by Derek Johnson that scored Peter Haggerty. Later in the inning, Bryce Boyle-Hoban drove in the game-winning run with an RBI double that brought home Nathan Melhouse.
On offense, Brock Peterson went 2-for-3, and Jonathan Sharot was 1-for-3 with a double for the Bombers, who travel to Dodge Center for a Hiawatha Valley League doubleheader with Triton.
