The sixth inning saw five runs, four of which came in for Pine Island in a 4-1 victory over Lake City Friday evening.

The Panthers had just two hits in the game, but worked five walks off Lake City starter John Brown, while the Tigers committed four errors.

Brown finished 1-for-4 while giving up four runs – three earned – with five walks and five strikeouts. Reid Lundell went 1-for-2, Trevor Gnotke ended up 2-for-3 with an RBI single, and Alex Scharpen had one hit in three at-bats.

Gnotke finished the game on the mound, throwing 1 1/3 innings with one hit allowed and one walk.

Lake City (5-7) will head to Cannon Falls on Monday.
