The Tigers quickly went on an 8-0 run to push their advantage to 43-31. A basket by Ellsworth's Caleb Peterson drew the home team within 10 points with 3:48 to go.

Ellsworth head coach Cory Brathol called a timeout to set up a full-court press, but the press couldn't bring Ellsworth back. The Panthers failed to score a field goal in the final 3:48 and were held scoreless period in the final two minutes as the Tigers sank their freethrows.

Ellsworth came into the game averaging six 3-pointers per contest yet were held to zero. They also had no players in double figures. Ben Helmer finished with a team-high eight points, while David Arndt tallied seven.

"We just couldn't get the shots to fall from outside," Brathol said. "We took good shots, but they didn't go in."
