Arlene J. Kohner, 80, of Winona, Minn July 7, 2008
Arlene J. Kohner, 80, of Winona, Minn. formerly of Red Wing, died Monday at her home. Born Jan. 14, 1928, in the village of Blair, Wis., to Harris and Evelyn (Engebretson) Hanson. She married Elmer C. Kohner Oct. 16, 1951, in Rollingstone, Minn., where they lived until moving to Red Wing in 1964. In 1973, they moved to Winona where she worked at the Winona County Auditor's office for 10 years. He died June 2, 2005. She was a member of Central Lutheran Church and its Hannah Circle. She enjoyed sewing, baking, and fishing.
Survivors include her four children, Steve (Gwen), Cindy, both of Red Wing, Jim (Bev) of Winona, and Dave (Beth) of Pine Island; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one sister, Nancy (Gary) Olson of Blair, Wis. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer, one infant daughter, Barbara; one daughter, Peggy; one brother, Eugene; and two sisters, Helen and LaVone.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Central Lutheran Church with the Rev. Michelle Rem officiating. Burial will be in Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery in Rollingstone, Minn. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Hoff Funeral and Cremation Service Hansen Goodview Chapel or one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
