Arlene was born March 24, 1923, in Red Wing, Minn., to John and Lydia (Nagel) Marks. Arlene was raised in Red Wing, but spent most of her adult life in Rochester. On June 15, 1946, she married Harry Earle in Red Wing, and they later separated.
