Area baseball: No. 1 Wabasha-Kellogg 17, No. 4 Goodhue 2 (5 innings)
Goodhue got off to a strong start against fourth-ranked Wabasha-Kellogg, scoring two runs in the top of the first. Then the floodgates opened for Wabasha-Kellogg in the Section 1A East playoff game. The Falcons scored six runs in the bottom half of the inning and never let up on Thursday in Wabasha.
"They took advantage of our mistakes," Goodhue coach Eric Schofield said. "They were able to string together some hits that put some runs across."
