Area amateur baseball: Plum City 6, Elmwood 4 (10 innings)

Game recap: Nathan Stein's RBI double and Josh Bauer's RBI single in the top of the 10th inning were the difference in Sunday's game in Elmwood.

With the win, Plum City (15-5 overall, 10-5 St. Croix Valley League) moved into first place in the SCVL South Division. It also marked the first time the Blues have won 10 league games in a season since 2005.

Difference maker: Mark Luebker was called into service with one out in the second inning because Plum City starter Kyle Brantner left the game with numbness in his arm.

Luebker was marvelous in relief: He pitched the final 8 2/3 innings and allowed just one earned run.
