Amateur Baseball: Power stroke leads Red Wing to victory
Mike Stegora continued his hot streak at the plate Thursday, going 3-for-4 with a triple and a home run, as Red Wing defeated Kewaskum (Wis.) 7-3 at the Red Wing Athletic Field.
Stegora tallied three RBI, scored two runs and stole two bases in the victory. Zach Laffey finished 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBI.
Augie Lindmark pitched six innings for the Aces, giving up three runs (one earned) on seven hits and two walks while striking out five.
Red Wing scored six runs in the first four innings of Thursday’s win, ripping eight hits and walking three times, after falling behind 1-0 in the top of the first inning. The A’s added a run in the third inning and another tally in the sixth inning. Andy Gibart pitched a perfect seventh inning and Brett Gadient sealed the win with two scoreless innings.
Brad Boegel went 3-for-4 and Adam Sarauer was 2-for-4 to lead Kewaskum.
The Aces travel to face Lake City Friday.
