The Lake City Serpents’ woes continued on Sunday after getting roughed up in a 16-0 seven-inning loss to Northfield in a Classic Cannon Valley League game in Northfield.

Lake City was held to one hit: a fourth-inning double by Austin Baab. Eric Sandstrom was pegged with the loss after allowing four hits and six runs (five earned) before recording an out in the first inning.

Finishing with 15 hits, the Knights were led by Matt Larson, who was 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs scored and a double. Nick Bornhauser finished 3-for-4 with three runs and an RBI, and Scott Benjamin had two hits, including a double, two runs scored and an RBI.

Still looking for their first win, the Serpents (0-10, 0-9 CCVL) host Bay City on Wednesday in a non-league game.
