Amateur Baseball: Ellsworth falls in 12 innings
The Ellsworth Hubbers traveled to face the River Falls Fighting Fish Sunday and fell 8-7 in 12 innings in River Falls.
Matt Walker pitched the first 11 innings for the Fighting Fish, allowing six runs on 11 hits and five walks while striking out four. Jack Herum picked up the victory, giving up one run on two hits and two walks in one inning of work.
The Hubbers were led by No. 9-hitter Nate Hove, who went 3-for-5 with two RBI and a run scored. Storm Gram and Lance Hove each finished 2-for-6 at the plate. Scott DeWyre knocked in two and was 1-for-6.
Andy King went 1-for-5 with a double and three RBI while Brian Giebel was 1-for-4 with a home run, two RBI and three runs scored to lead River Falls.
Both teams left 15 runners on base.
