Amateur Baseball: Bears shut out against Milroy Irish

In the Miller High Life Tournament in Arlington, Minn., Cannon Falls held Milroy to just one run on three hits. But that was all the Irish needed to pull away with a 1-0 seven-inning victory over the Bears on Saturday.

The lone run came in the top of the sixth inning when Isaac Dolan drove in Dominic Dolan with an RBI single. Isaac also tallied a shutout victory on the mound, notching five strikeouts and two walks.

Cannon Falls’ Andy Otto was stellar in the loss, striking out five and holding Milroy to three hits and one walk. But the Bears could only string together five hits, all singles.

Dropping its last three games by a 5-1 margin, Cannon Falls (8-4) returns to Classic Cannon Valley League play on Wednesday, hosting Dundas.
