2013 Distribution System Improvements

Mechanical Cleaning and Relining of Water Mains

Red Wing, Minnesota

Notice is hereby given that sealed bids will be received, publicly opened and read aloud by the City of Red Wing, Minnesota, at the City Hall, 315 West 4th Street, Red Wing, Minnesota 55066 in said city at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 2, 2013, to construct the 2013 Water Distribution System Improvements - Mechanical Cleaning and Relining of Water Mains as defined in the drawings and specifications. A general description of the work includes:

1.Removal of piping to permit access to water mains in excavations dug by others;

2.Mechanical cleaning 1015 feet 8" cast iron water main utilizing cable attached scrapers and squeegees;

3.Installation new mortar lining;

4.Reinstallation of piping and Owner furnished valves;

5.Removal and disposal of cleaning residue.

Specifications as prepared by the City of Red Wing are on file and available for review during normal business hours at the City of Red Wing Public Works Building, 229 Tyler Road North, Red Wing Minnesota 55066.

Complete sets of Bidding Documents and bidding instructions are available for downloading from the City of Red Wing website (www.red-wing.org) for a non-refundable fee of $20.00.

Each bid must be accompanied by a bid bond or cashier's check payable to the City of Red Wing in the amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the total bid as a guarantee that the Bidder, if successful, will enter into a contract with the Owner for the work described in the bidding documents. This deposit will be subject to forfeiture as provided by law. The deposits for the three lowest bidders will be retained by the Owner until the contract has been awarded and executed, but no longer than ninety (90) days. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of ninety (90) days following the bid opening.

The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive informalities or to award the contract to the lowest responsible bidder, in the best interest of the Owner.
