Spotlight: Neal Topliff will perform as part of the “Sheldon Presents: Arts for Your Health” music series at Mayo Clinic Health System in Red Wing. The concert begins at noon Aug. 7.

Topliff, a local Red Wing musician, has been a popular performer in the Sheldon Presents series.

He released his first CD of his solo performances in 1998 and has since released ten additional albums.

Topliff has appeared on numerous radio and television programs and has been performing works from his catalog for more than 15 years.

The performance is part of the collaboration between the Sheldon Theatre and Mayo Clinic Health System in Red Wing. The collaboration has presented local, regional and national artists for more than four years.

This performance is presented with support provided by the Southeast Minnesota Arts Council with funds provided through the Minnesota State Arts Board and the Minnesota State Legislature.

Preview show

Supercross racing is the featured preview show for the Pierce County Fair. See racers jump 70-foot triples, navigate corners and pound through the whoops. Local racers ages 4 to 50 are invited to sign up.

A Supercross Race contains 21 different classes, five ATV classes and 16 dirt bike classes. The program consists of a Heat Race and a Main Event, and every person who signs up will race twice.

Goodhue County Fair

The county’s annual fair includes lots of animals, fun, games and food. A local tradition since 1859, the celebration was a way for county pioneers to showcase agricultural and homemaking activities — and stands the same way today. Today’s activities include the entry day for open class exhibits, 6-10 p.m. carnival, 7 p.m. Lawn Mower Derby and more.
