Spotlight: The May concert in the “Sheldon Presents: Arts for Your Health” music series at Mayo Clinic Health System in Red Wing features Luthier than Thou, a local ensemble featuring students from Minnesota State College-Southeast Technical.

The concert begins at noon Thursday May 1.

Musicians include Michael Opp on hurdy gurdy, Jon Anderson on mandolin, Nathan Glazier on guitar and Leo Whitebird on octave mandolin.

They are all full-time students in the guitar building and repair program at Southeast Technical’s Red Wing campus.

Expect to hear a variety of folk genres, bluegrass and jazz.

The performance is part of the collaboration between the Sheldon Theatre and Mayo Clinic Health System in Red Wing. The collaboration has presented local, regional and national artists for more than four years.

This performance is presented with support provided by the Southeast Minnesota Arts Council with funds provided through the Minnesota State Arts Board and the Minnesota State Legislature.
