Minneapolis-based jazz pianist and composer Mary Louise Knutson performs live at the Red Wing Noontime Kiwanis pancake brunch. The concert will be held at Garden View Café, Mayo Clinic Health System in Red Wing.
Knutson’s trio CD “In the Bubble” charted in JazzWeek's Top 10 and remained in the Top 50 for 19 weeks straight.
Six standards and four originals - ranging from a swinging Oscar Peterson trio-style "It Could Happen to You" to a gospel style "You Are My Sunshine," - complete this highly accessible mainstream-to-modern collection.
She tours regularly with former “Tonight Show” bandleader trumpeter Doc Severinsen and his big band — featuring two-time Grammy Award winner tenor saxophonist Ernie Watts. She also has toured the nation with her own group, the Mary Louise Knutson Trio, and to Italy with vocalist Debbie Duncan. As a show player, Knutson has performed with such artists as Reba McEntire, Michael Bolton, Jordin Sparks, Trisha Yearwood, Sam Moore, Donny Osmond, Smoky Robinson and the Osmond Brothers — along with comedians Phyllis Diller, Jack Carter, Rob Schneider, Kevin Nealan, Judy Tenuta and more. For more information on Knutson or to hear her music, visit www.marylouiseknutson.com.Tickets are available at the door or at the Sheldon Theatre.
