Dáithí Sproule and Laura MacKenzie have been making music together in various ensembles for decades and now play duet.

The concert features a collection of traditional Irish and Scottish music and song, plus Sproule’s recent compositions. He is known for his pioneering guitar styles and a deep knowledge of Irish song.

Multi-instrumentalist, MacKenzie is unique in the diversity of her instrumental skills. She has been involved in the revival of Irish music and dance in the Upper Midwest.

The performance is part of the collaboration between the Sheldon Theatre and Mayo Clinic Health System in Red Wing. The collaboration has presented local, regional and national artists for more than four years.

The program is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Southeastern Minnesota Arts Council thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
