In the program, members trace bluegrass’ roots in the British Isles and Africa to its development in Appalachia on to the present day.

This is a fast-paced, fun and engaging program with lots of audience participation.

Learn how bluegrass singers arrange vocal harmonies and try singing the lead, tenor or baritone note in a bluegrass vocal “stack.”

Discover the mystical bluegrass concept of “drive” and clap along to the “chop” beat.

Playing a genre created and dominated by artists from the South, the High 48s members were born and raised in the Upper Midwest.

Since arriving on the Minnesota bluegrass scene in 2006, the High 48s has achieved national recognition, taking first place in the prestigious RockyGrass Bluegrass Band Competition in Lyons, Colo. — the first band from the Upper Midwest to win the honor. The band tours the national bluegrass festival circuit.
