Spotlight: Holiday Wine Tasting to benefit Humane Society

Cooper, the resident canine at West End Liquor, has chosen the Humane Society

The Humane Society of Goodhue County has been chosen to receive funds generated by the 23rd annual Red Wing Holiday Wine Tasting from 7-9 p.m Thursday, Dec. 7, at The Summit at the St. James Hotel.

The event, hosted by the St. James Hotel and West End Liquor in Red Wing, gives participants the opportunity to taste 125 wines from around the world and enjoy superb appetizers created by the St. James Hotel. One craft brewery is featured, Castle Danger Brewery from Two Harbors, Minn.

The event is limited to 300 participants and sells out each year.

"This is a great event for the community," Kip Earney of West End Liquor said. "It's a way that people can share the holiday spirit, taste some new wines and benefit a local Red Wing nonprofit organization. Choosing the Humane Society just made sense to Cooper, our in-store pet. If Cooper wants to benefit the cats and dogs, that's good enough for me."

Tickets are available at West End Liquor, the St. James Hotel and the Humane Society. For more information, contact West End Liquor at 651-388-9425 or the Humane Society at
