The Red Wing School Board held its regular meeting on November 6, 2017 in the RWHS Media Center. Board members, Superintendent Karsten Anderson, staff and public were present. Chair Farrar called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m.
Motion made by Anderson and seconded by Christensen to approve the meeting agenda as amended, with the addition of 3.4 Election Judges. Motion carried 7-0.
2.1 Recognitions and Upcoming Events
Several recognitions were shared with the school board.
2.2 Public Comment: None
2.3 Elementary Parent Involvement and Fundraising Plan:
With the dissolution of the Elementary PAC, Jennie Bordonaro and
Mike Pagel presented different ideas and plans for fundraising and
parental involvement.
2.4 Naviance and Advisory Programming:
Todd Herber provided information about the Naviance program and
advisory period programming.
2.5 Reports and Committee Notes:
Committee meeting notes and reports were reviewed.

Motion made by Jones and seconded by Christensen to approve the consent agenda as amended. Motion carried 7-0.
3.2 Approval of Policies:
Motion made by Anderson and seconded by Borgschatz to approve the following policies:
Policy 714: Fund Balances
Policy 721: Uniform Grant Guidance Regarding Federal Revenue Sources
Policy 903: Visitors to School District Buildings and Sites
Motion carried 7-0.
3.3 Operating Levy Information:
Superintendent Anderson gave an update about the election and information campaign.
3.4 Election Judges:
Superintendent Anderson provided the school board with an updated list of election judges for the November 7th Referendum vote. Upon roll-call vote, Anderson, Borgschatz, Christensen, Diercks, Farrar, Jones and Roe voted in favor. No board member voted no. Motion passed 7-0.
Upcoming Meetings:
Chair Farrar reviewed the upcoming meetings.
Motion made by Roe, second by Anderson to adjourn the meeting at 6:46 p.m. Motion carried 7-0.
