PUBLIC HEARING city of red wing

Thursday, November 7, 2013 - 11:20pm

Notice is hereby given that the City of Red Wing Advisory Planning Commission will hold a public hearing in the City Council Chambers at City Hall on Tuesday, November 19, 2013, at 7:00 p.m., to hear and make a recommendation on proposed amendments to the Red Wing Zoning Ordinance (Chapter 11 of the Red Wing City Code). The Red Wing Planning Advisory Commission is proposing amendments to Division 25: Residential District Regulations and Division 47: Planned Unit Developments that would allow more flexibility for the potential redevelopment and reuse of existing institutional/commercial structures located within residentially zoned districts.
The proposed change to Division 25 is the addition of a new use to Division 25-020 D) Conditional Uses that allows a Multiple Family Residential use with five or more units if it is approved as part of a Planned Unit Development that includes the reuse of an existing institutional/commercial building. Three changes are proposed for Division 47; these changes address the reuse of existing buildings, the acreage requirements of a PUD involving the reuse of an existing building, and how density for this type of PUD may be addressed.
The complete proposed amendments may be viewed or obtained from the Planning Department at City Hall, 315 W. 4th Street, Red Wing, MN 55066 or by calling (651)385-3622.
Written or oral comments to said proposal may be presented at this public hearing or filed with the City Clerk prior to this hearing. Each response will be duly considered and evaluated before any formal action is taken by the Planning Commission.
