Red Wing park naturalists to lead three hikes
Red Wing park naturalists continue to lead programs during September. The list this month includes:
'Bark Naturalist' hike
When: 6 p.m. Sept. 12
Where: Memorial Park, Lower Quarry
What: A dog-friendly hike through the prairies of Memorial Park. Bring along your own dog to join in the fun. Don't forget your leash and poop bags.
All dogs participating must be on-leash and very friendly towards other dogs and people.
When: 6 p.m. Sept. 18
Where: Memorial Park, Upper Quarry
What; Come on up to Memorial Park and do some outdoor art. We will be making nature mandalas — spiral/circular designs made from twigs, leaves, stones, and other natural items.
No skills necessary for this relaxing and low-key art project.
When: 6 p.m. Sept. 26
Where: Billings-Tomfohr Conservation Area, Neal Street Trailhead.
What: Meet at the end of Neal Street for a casual evening hike around the Billings-Tomfohr Conservation Area for a walk on this bluff behind Twin Bluff Middle School.
The hike will last about 90 minutes.
