Sheldon will announce 2018/19 season on Wednesday evening
Red Wing's leading cultural resource, the Sheldon Theatre, will undergo major structural and cosmetic renovations from May to September 2018, during which time the building will be closed.
Executive Director Bonnie Schock said that these much-needed changes will help preserve and protect the building for the next 25 years. Due to reopen late September, the Sheldon is also preparing for one of its most exciting seasons to date.
The venue has already teased its first show of its 2018/19 season: The Revolution. Made up of Bobby Z, Wendy Melvoin, Lisa Coleman, Matt Fink and Brownmark, The Revolution was one of Prince's most celebrated and memorable collaborators. The ensemble's music promises to bring a lot of great energy (and dancing) to the fore.
As for the rest of the shows, you'll just have to wait until Schock reveals the full lineup at the Season Announcement Party 5:30-7 p.m. Wednesday, May 23, at the Sheldon Theatre.
This event is open to the public. Come for insider information and a preview of the renovation. Wine and cheese will be provided.
Tickets for the new season will go on sale immediately following the announcement, limited to season package presales and Friends of the Sheldon members until July 4.
