Red Wing Men's Style Guide Reveal and Launch Party
A new style is breaking out in Red Wing — men's style.
Friday, May 18, the River Blue Salon and Day Spa in the St. James Hotel will be hosting "the reveal" 7-8 8:30 p.m. of the first Red Wing Men's Style Guide. The poster boasts that it will be "the hottest event in town."
The project's intent is to highlight the retailers and service businesses downtown who are dedicated to tailoring to the aesthetic needs of men. This guidebook is more than just a catalog for men but a celebration of the people who shop, work, live and strive for improvements in the town, organizers said.
Downtown Main Street's Executive Director Megan Tsui expressed a desire for visitors and locals alike to witness the full extent of what the town has to offer. Her idea for a guide was born after watching people wander in and out of Main Street storefronts without exploring the rest of downtown.
"You see, we are so lucky to have a downtown that people want to visit. Other towns aren't so lucky. And we have to remind each other to shop local first... or local will go away," Tsui wrote in a Red Wing Downtown Main Street Facebook post,
And local this project is. Tsui credted Colt Ekblad, Alyssa Riegelman, Jody Lyons Anderson, Antoinette Marie, Tessa Anderson Blue, Tracy Hardyman and Kim Lampe for expertise in marketing and advertising.
"The party is to celebrate and thank all those mentioned above for their help and vision," Tsui wrote.
Event-goers will be the first to receive a copy of the guide, which will be available online and in print, and will witness first-hand the finery the town has to offer as displayed by male models.
Tickets to the event are $25 and can be found at www.downtownredwing.org.
