Business Notebook: Three providers join MCHS
Mayo Clinic Health System in Red Wing has added three providers to its lineup.
They started practicing here this spring.
Kayla Langhans, a certified nurse practitioner, has joined the occupational medicine team at Mayo Clinic Health System in Red Wing. Working closely with the occupational medicine providers, she will work with local businesses to promote employee health and productivity, Dr. Kodjo Bossou said.
“I am passionate about keeping people healthy and preventing injury. I look forward to forming partnerships that help the local workforce thrive,” she said.
Langhans earned her undergraduate degree at St. Catherine’s University in St. Paul and completed her Masters of Science in Nursing: Family Nurse Practitioner at Winona State University in Rochester.
“I am very excited for this new role in Red Wing, primarily because the occupational medicine team has been so welcoming,” Langhans said. “With my husband growing up in Red Wing, we will be very close to more family and friends.”
Emily Sander, licensed psychologist, will see patients privately but also work with patients with mild-to-moderate mental health illnesses in the primary care setting as part of the Integrated Behavioral Health team.
She said she enjoys seeing patients of all ages and levels of concerns. She has special interest in working with adolescents and adults with high function autism, families in conflict and individuals with sleep problems.
“Giving people those quick tips and helping them create new skills to achieve better sleep or manage stress is really rewarding,” Sander said. “I love to meet new patients, especially children, and look forward to being a part of the behavioral health team.”
Sander completed her postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Cincinnati University Health Services in Ohio. She earned her doctor of psychology degree at Xavier University in Cincinnati, and has an undergraduate degree from Thomas More College in Crestview Hills, Kentucky.
Joel Cassingham, M.D., will care for children from birth through adolescence.
“I’m very excited to see pediatric patients in the Red Wing area and look forward to keeping them healthy as they grow and mature,” he said.
Cassingham received his undergraduate degree at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. He studied medicine at the University of Illinois in Chicago and completed his pediatric residency at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis.
He previously worked at Essentia Health in Hibbing, Minnesota.
•Lisa Acker of Red Wing recently qualified as a Minnesota Certified Municipal Clerk, reflecting completion of extensive education programs and complete pertinent experience in a municipality.
